MYOB congratulates Rydal (Sydney) business owner Bianca Slade of Wholefood Simply for winning the fifth and final ‘Big Heroes Shop Small’ $10,000 business makeover grant for the ‘Most Liked’ photo in the competition.
In February this year, Bianca established Wholefood Simply, a wholefoods blog and online store, after noticing many children were eating too much processed and packaged foods. As a new mum herself, Bianca wanted to show people that quick and easy food didn’t have to be pre-packaged.
“My aim is to make things a little easier for those embarking on the real foods path. I want to help families who live with intolerances and allergies. I want to put fun and simplicity into what can sometimes be a daunting and dull experience. Ultimately, I want to create food that is enjoyed by all. I can’t wait to get our recipe book out to everyone and I’d like to thank MYOB for making this possible.” said Bianca.
In the caption for her winning entry, which received more than 2,000 likes in the MYOB ‘Business Selfie’ photo competition, Bianca said, “I love bringing joy to those on restricted diets. This grant will take my passion to the next level and help me spread the wholefood fun.”
When asked about the biggest challenges in business, Bianca said, “Lack of knowledge in how to set up a business including the technology you need, the logistics of putting all recipes and content on the website, and sticking to a business budget are just some of the challenges.”
Her advice to small business owners is, “Do something you’re passionate about; something you love. You have to believe in it even if no-one else does.”
