Leading technology platform MYOB is expanding access to AI BAS, its intelligent business activity statement (BAS) preparation solution, with a new beta program for employing businesses.
The expansion marks the next evolution for AI BAS, which commenced rollout for non-employing businesses in March this year. As businesses grow and take on employees, BAS preparation becomes more complex, adding to the administrative burden. AI BAS is designed to help businesses stay ahead of their obligations by surfacing issues earlier and maintaining visibility of BAS readiness throughout the quarter.
For the 920,000 Australian businesses employing between one and 19 people*, AI BAS has the potential to remove hours of administration every month. At scale, that represents millions of hours that could be redirected from paperwork towards customers, employees and business growth.
Connected directly with MYOB’s business management solutions, AI BAS uses information already held within the customer’s MYOB file, the financial source of truth, to help categorise transactions, identify potential GST issues and highlight missing documentation, while keeping customers in control of review and lodgment calls.
In addition to GST-related BAS preparation, the employing business beta for AI BAS will support additional obligations including PAYG withholding.

The release builds on MYOB’s growing portfolio of intelligent business tools, which includes in-product AI assistant capability, AI-powered business insights and recently announced integrations with Claude and ChatGPT. These combined capabilities reflect MYOB’s goal of bringing intelligent assistance directly into the workflows businesses rely on every day while maintaining the integrity of the underlying system of record.
