MYOB Joins Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Network

MYOB has joined the scheme as part of its ongoing commitment to building a values-led and inclusive culture.

MYOB has formally launched the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative across its offices in Australia and New Zealand, marking another step in its journey to create a workplace where people feel safe, respected and supported.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a globally recognised symbol that helps raise awareness of non-visible disabilities and enables people to discreetly signal they may need additional time, space, support or understanding. The Sunflower enables individuals with conditions such as autism, ADHD, anxiety, chronic pain, hearing loss, dementia, and other hidden disabilities to voluntarily signal that they may need assistance.

The workplace program promotes greater inclusion, awareness, and accessibility by encouraging staff and the community to recognise and respond appropriately to the diverse needs of people with hidden disabilities. Participation at MYOB is voluntary, and respect for privacy and personal choice is central to how the program is being introduced.

The initiative was formally launched in March 2026 during Neurodiversity Celebration Week and Harmony Week, following internal awareness and training as part of MYOB’s Sunflower accreditation journey.

“Creating a workplace where people feel safe, respected and supported matters deeply at MYOB,” said Sally Elson, Chief People Officer at MYOB.

“This Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative is a practical step that helps build awareness of non-visible disabilities and encourages more understanding in everyday interactions.

"When people feel seen, valued and supported, they are better able to contribute, connect and thrive. MYOB’s adoption of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower reflects a genuine commitment to creating a workplace where inclusion is embedded in everyday interactions and where people with non-visible disabilities feel empowered to be themselves."

"We are proud to welcome organisations like MYOB that are taking practical steps to build greater understanding, accessibility and belonging for everyone,” said Sandee Facy, Head of Hidden Disabilities Australia and New Zealand.

Across MYOB office locations in Australia and New Zealand, green Sunflower badges are available for team members with non-apparent disabilities, while white Sunflower badges help signal allyship and awareness. The initiative is designed to create a more inclusive, understanding and supportive environment for both team members and customers.

The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower began in the UK in 2016 and is now used in more than 90 countries, with more than 30,000 Sunflower-friendly locations worldwide across sectors including transport, retail, healthcare, education, workplaces and entertainment.
