MYOB has been named Brand of the Year at the prestigious 2026 Mumbrella Awards, winning one of the program’s most competitive categories judged on cultural impact, creativity and commercial results.
The award recognises a defining period for MYOB, as the business transformed its brand into one built for today’s customer, designed around a deep understanding of the realities of running a business today.
That evolution was also shaped through the building of Solo by MYOB from scratch for a new generation of sole operators. As a mobile-first product and brand with its own distinctive personality, Solo helped MYOB connect with new customers and became a catalyst for the broader reinvention of the brand.
Through a culture-led approach to brand building and challenging category conventions, the work has modernised the brand and driven relevancy to the people MYOB exists to support.
Impact has been immediate, with Solo by MYOB subscriptions 33% over target and a 13% subscription uplift achieved across the wider portfolio.
Dean Chadwick, Chief Customer Officer for MYOB, said the recognition reflects a business-wide commitment to its purpose of helping more businesses start, survive and succeed.
“This is a proud moment for MYOB. We’ve been deliberate about building a brand that is close to the realities of running a business today, and that comes through in the ideas and innovation we’re pushing to help our customers move with confidence,” said Dean.
“This recognition demonstrates that creativity and commercial outcomes are intrinsically linked. It shows what can happen when you put customer understanding at the centre, challenge yourself to do things differently and build a brand that people can genuinely connect with.
“When the brand is clear about who it serves and why it matters, it creates stronger trust with customers and stronger momentum for the business.”
The recognition caps a strong year for MYOB, with the brand building momentum through work designed to meet customers where they are, and show up in culture in a more distinctive way.
It follows a strong period of recognition for MYOB, including AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies in Banking and Financial Services, three Gold wins at the Transform Awards including Best Overall Brand Identity, a D&AD shortlist for Writing for Design and Bronze at Best Awards NZ for Best Design: Large Brand Identity.
