MYOB brings SME financial intelligence into Claude and ChatGPT

Businesses across Australia will soon have the option to surface trusted MYOB financial insights in their Claude and ChatGPT accounts, bringing MYOB data into the AI tools SMEs already use to run their business.

MYOB is set to give customers direct access to MYOB financial insights within Claude and ChatGPT, including customer balances, overdue invoices and profit and loss.

The move places MYOB’s data-rich financial and compliance platform at the centre of the AI experience. By connecting Claude and ChatGPT to the structured records inside MYOB, customers can ask questions and get answers grounded in the same underlying data they use to run payroll, manage cash flow, stay on top of tax and manage growing compliance requirements.

The announcement comes as Anthropic’s latest Economic Index found Australia ranks first globally for Claude usage on a population-adjusted basis, with ‘business operations’ now the country’s second most common Claude use case.

MYOB CEO Paul Robson said the move reflects growing demand for AI that is grounded in trusted business data and built around real customer workflows.

“AI only matters in business when it connects to the systems people already trust and the work they need to get done,” said Paul.

“By bringing MYOB into Claude and ChatGPT, we are giving customers another way to ask questions, understand performance and make faster decisions using the financial records they already rely on to run their business.

“This is part of a bigger shift for MYOB. We’re putting AI to work inside our products and building new platforms around them. Together, they create a smarter experience, helping customers make the most of their technology, turn trusted data into action and move their business forward.”

The integrations build on MYOB’s own in-product AI assistant, which already helps customers interact with their business data inside MYOB using plain-language questions. The extension to ChatGPT and Claude gives customers the flexibility to access the same grounded financial insight in the AI surfaces they already use, whether they choose to work within MYOB or through external tools.

AI BAS shows how MYOB is extending this approach beyond insights into practical workflows. Australia’s first agentic BAS offering works progressively throughout the quarter, solving for the administrative burden by helping categorise transactions, flagging GST rules and raising issues for review.

MYOB is continuing to invest in and accelerate AI innovation across its business management solutions, embedding intelligent capabilities directly into the workflows customers rely on every day. This work is advancing AI-powered experiences and intelligent agents that can forecast cash flow, guide compliance readiness and surface proactive insights, helping businesses make better decisions with greater confidence.

Combined with deep local expertise, the partnerships are designed to give Australian businesses AI experiences that reflect local regulation and the oversight needed to build trust in adoption.

MYOB will commence a phased rollout within Claude and ChatGPT’s app directories for customers from August. Further integration capabilities are expected to follow as MYOB continues to prioritise the highest-value small business use cases.
