MYOB unites with Kiwi firm Ace Payroll

28th May, 2015

I am delighted to share with you that MYOB has today agreed to buy Wellington-based Ace Payroll.

Ace Payroll provides payroll solutions for thousands of New Zealand SMEs. Just like MYOB, it has been in this market for over 20 years, and has established a proven track record of making it easy for Kiwi employers to pay their staff.

Both MYOB and Ace Payroll have the same approach and mission to make business life easier for our customers. One example of how we do this is by providing dedicated phone support. Paying staff on time and ensuring they meet compliance obligations is critical for small businesses, so it’s essential that SME employers not only have the best tools, but also the right support.

Ace Payroll is the third New Zealand company to be acquired by MYOB in two years, and follows the successful integration of BankLink (acquired in 2013) and PayGlobal (acquired in 2014). This shows the deep respect we have for Kiwi innovation at MYOB.

We also made another exciting announcement today. We are embarking on the next generation of online payroll solutions. We’ve already seen massive growth in uptake of our online products with 67 percent of new customers choosing a cloud accounting solution as at late 2014.

Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to reinforce that all of our research and development spend – more than $100 million over the last three years – has been focused on Australia and New Zealand.

That means we’re able to put all of our efforts into creating first class SME accounting and payroll solutions specifically for small businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

Please join us in welcoming the Ace Payroll team to MYOB. Together we can provide great payroll solutions that make business life easier for Kiwi SMEs.
