MYOB provides you with a unique 12-digit serial number when you purchase your AccountRight subscription. If your serial number doesn't match the one that's in your company file when moving that file online, you'll see an error about "the serial number doesn't match your account" – preventing the file from uploading.

Change the serial number
Offline files can only be opened in AccountRight v2026.4 or earlier. Before changing your serial number, you'll need to download AccountRight v2026.4. You'll then be able to open your offline file to change the serial number.
You'll need your new serial number to complete this process – you were provided this number when you purchased your AccountRight subscription.
Close AccountRight.
Download and install AccountRight 2026.4.
Right-click this download link and choose Save link as or Save target as to save the installation file to your Desktop.
Double-click the downloaded file and follow the prompts to install AccountRight. AccountRight v2026.4 will start automatically when the installation is complete.
Open your offline company file. If you see a prompt to restart AccountRight to install an update – ignore it.
Go to the Help menu and choose Change Serial Number.
Enter your New serial number.
Click Next.
Restart AccountRight to upload your company file.
