Deleting a bill, quote or order

You can delete bills from the Bills page (Purchases menu > Bills).

If a bill has a payment applied to it, you'll first need to delete the payment before you can delete the bill.

If you've linked a document from your uploads to a bill, deleting that bill will return that document to your uploads.

To delete a bill

  1. From the Purchases menu, choose Bills.

  2. In the bills list, find the bill you want to delete. See Viewing bills if you need help.

  3. Click the Bill number of the bill you want to delete. The Bill page appears, showing the bill details.

  4. Click Delete at the bottom of the page. A confirmation message appears.

  5. At the confirmation message, click Delete. The Bills page reappears.

Can't delete a bill?

If the Delete button is inactive, it could mean the bill:

  • Tick

    has a payment against it. You'll first need to delete the payment (click the payment to view its details then click Delete).

  • Tick

    is within a locked period. This prevents any transactions being deleted in the period. If this is the case, you'll need to unlock the period. See Locking transactions
