Why do I need to update AccountRight?

New versions of AccountRight are designed to give you more time saving features, help you stay on top of your obligations, keep your data safe and fix things that didn't go to plan (okay, fix the bugs). You also need the latest version to get the best online experience and performance.

What's the latest version?

The latest version is 2026.5 released in June 2026. If you're already using this version, there's nothing else you need to do.

Check your current version by opening your AccountRight company file, going to the Help menu and choosing About MYOB AccountRight.

About MYOB AccountRight

As updates are released, older versions are decommissioned and no longer work. If you're using an older version and your file's online, you must update to the latest AccountRight version to keep working.

Keeping AccountRight up to date

Updating from within your software is the easiest way to keep it up to date. When you open your company file, AccountRight will check for any updates. If one is available, it'll download and install automatically.

You'll then be prompted to restart AccountRight to complete the update. You can also see what's new in each release.

Shut down AccountRight when you're not using it

If you leave AccountRight open all the time, you may miss out on automatic updates.
