Invite your accountant or bookkeeper

Invite your accountant, bookkeeper to help you with your business admin and getting ready for tax time. Inviting them gives them secure access to all of your business information, so they can view and edit records. They'll look at your records from their secure site and won't be using the Solo app.

Any changes your accountant or bookkeeper make will be reflected in Solo, but you can keep using it while they work on your records. If they need to lodge your records to the tax office, like a business activity statement (BAS), they may lock your records for a period of time, so that the copy that they provide to the tax office matches what is in your app.

If you need to change a locked record, speak to your accountant or bookkeeper.

Add your accountant or bookkeeper

You can invite two accountants and bookkeepers to your business.

  1. Go to More and tap Share access.

  2. Tap Invite and enter their name and email.

  3. Tap Send invite.

Your accountant or bookkeeper will get an email with the invitation. Check Share access to see if your accountant or bookkeeper has accepted their invitation.

If your accountant or bookkeeper uses MYOB software, like MYOB Practice Compliance, they can add people from their firm to help work on your Solo account. These people will not show in the Share access list in your app. If you remove the accountant and bookkeeper that you invited, this will also remove access for anybody in their firm.

If you have questions about who your accountant or bookkeeper has invited, you can ask them.

Resend the invitation

The invitation does not expire, but if after a few days your accountant or bookkeeper has not accepted the invitation, you can send the invite again:

  1. Go to More and tap Share access.

  2. Tap the three dots next to the person you invited (...)

  3. Tap Resend invite. They will receive another invite to the same email address.

Some of my invoices and expenses are locked

Your accountant or bookkeeper may lock your records for a period of time. Typically, this is done to make sure that the records they've sent to the Australian Tax Office matches what's in your app.

If you need to change a locked record, speak to your accountant or bookkeeper.
