Check if your bank is compatible with Solo

Before you connect, make sure you have:

  • access to your banking app or site, including your sign-in details

  • your phone nearby for security codes.

Your bank and your account need to be compatible for you to connect to Solo. Solo talks to your bank using open banking. This is a newer technology, so your bank might not be set up for it, or you might need to enable it for your account.

Compatible banks

Most major Australian banks and many smaller financial institutions are compatible, including:

  • Commonwealth Bank

  • NAB

  • ANZ

  • Westpac.

PayPal is not compatible.

When you choose your bank during setup, only the compatible banks will show. If your bank is not on the list, you cannot connect.

Compatible accounts

Most bank accounts are ready to connect, but some may require you to enable open banking. If you are not using a personal account, you may need to change the permissions.

  • joint account – the account owner may need to give access to the other owner for them to connect to Solo.

  • business account – the account owner may need to nominate a representative of the account.

Older accounts may not support open banking, so you may need to explore other account options with your bank.

Enable open banking in your online banking settings

Most banks will typically get you to enable open banking from your online banking settings.

  1. Sign in to your banking app or site.

  2. Find the settings that are related to open banking. These are usually found in ‘open banking’, ‘data sharing’, or ‘Consumer Data Right’ settings.

  3. Grant permission for accredited third-party providers. This will let Solo access your bank transactions.

If you can’t find or change these settings, ask your bank for help.

Open banking gives you control over your financial data

Open banking allows you to securely share data with accredited providers, like MYOB, approved by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

With open banking, you can:

  • share your data with trusted third parties securely

  • access smarter financial tools and services, like Solo

  • enjoy more flexibility and control over your banking data.

Your data, your choice – making banking work better for you!
