MYOB training exercise company files

Welcome to the resources page for the Training in a Book series. If you have purchased one of the Training in a Book manuals you can download the company files for use in the practical exercises by following the instructions below.

Note: These files are self-extracting executable files, and you will need to use WinZip software to extract them. If you do not have WinZip installed on your computer visit to download a trial version. 

Mac Users: If you are using MYOB AccountEdge v9, instructions on how to download and extract these files on your Mac can be found here.

To extract the files:

  1. Click the link relating to the Training in a Book manual you have.
  2. A File Download - Security Warning message appears, asking “Do you want to run or save this file?”
  3. Click Run.  The Internet Explorer – Security Warning message appears, asking “The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software?”
  4. Click Run. The Winzip Self Extractor window appears.
  5. Click Browse to select a destination on your PC where you want to save the files.
  6. Click OK once you have selected a destination.
  7. Click Unzip. At the end of this process a message appears, informing you of the success of the process.
  8. Click OK and then click Close.

At the end of this process all files relating to the course selected in Step 1 will be within the location you specified in Step 5 above.

Instructions for downloading and extracting exercise files on MAC

  1. Click the link relating to the Training in a Book manual you have.
  2. A “You have chosen to open” message appears, asking “Would you like to save this file?”
  3. Click Save File.  This will download the file to your specified location on your hard drive.
  4. Once the files have been downloaded, navigate to the saved location to extract the training exercise files.
  5. Highlight the downloaded file, and select File>Open With>Other.
  6. Select your extraction program, ie Stuffit
  7. Click Open.
  8. The training exercise files are automatically extracted to a folder of the same course name.
