New MYOB module revolutionises the tax management process

29 Aug 2013

Accounting practices looking to save time and resources while improving accuracy should look no further than the new MYOB Accountants Office (AO) Tax Manager. The new module was developed to make it even easier for accountants to stay on top of their clients’ tax obligations.

MYOB National Client Relations Manager, Accountants Division, Joel Smith, says the new AO Tax Manager will revolutionise the way accountants process clients’ tax.

“In addition to eliminating the paper trail created by the Tax Payment Calculation Report, the new integrated dashboards in AO Tax Manager allow accountants to sort, filter and group information. This is perfect for increasing data visibility and improving efficiency,” he says.

AO Tax Manager receives data directly from Inland Revenue. Not only does this ensure data entry is reduced and errors are minimised, it enables the new Alerts feature to notify users of any discrepancies.

“Each time an entry doesn’t match with the information held by Inland Revenue, an alert is displayed, notifying the user of the discrepancy. This helps ensure your clients’ tax payments are accurate and up-to-date,” says Mr Smith. “It also helps ensure there are no inconsistencies in GST reporting.

“MYOB works closely with Inland Revenue on an ongoing basis to ensure our services and products meet its requirements. At the same time, we are always looking for ways to make it easier for our clients to remain compliant.”

The new AO Tax Manager simplifies both work in progress reviews and the input required by the practice team, adds Mr Smith.

“AO Tax Manager is designed to provide accountants with a connected, streamlined process. When processing tax notices, it automatically stores your comments, amendments and approvals in the system; the changes made are also searchable at a later stage,” he says.

“The software also integrates seamlessly with AO Practice Manager, so everything you need is only a click or two away. It is this sort of functionality that makes the whole process more efficient and increases your productivity.”
