If you've received an email from MYOB announcing the end of the additional data file discount, and you want to cancel a subscription for an AccountRight company file, this help topic explains how.
Not sure whether to cancel a company file? Consult your accountant or bookkeeper. For other company file options, including downgrading to a cheaper AccountRight product or moving to MYOB Business, visit the Update to the AccountRight additional file discount website: SME's | MYOB Partners.
To cancel, you'll need to be the business owner or the person who set up your MYOB subscription.
Before you cancel a company file...
make sure you have no outstanding payments on your account for it
(Australia only) if you use payroll, make sure you've paid all outstanding super payments
(Australia only) if you use payroll, finalise your STP info to notify the ATO you'll no longer be submitting payroll from AccountRight
export any information you need from your company file
download copies of any documents from your In Tray
When you request:
a credit or refund through My Account, we'll process your request within 5 business days.
You’ll need to request your cancellation by submitting a support request online through MYOB Practice. Once you've done this, you'll get a confirmation email, and we'll get back to you with a response as soon as we can.
You can send a cancellation request through My Account – let's step you through it.
To cancel an AccountRight company file subscription
Log into My Account (myaccount.myob.com). If prompted, sign in using your MYOB account email address and password.
In the Account field, choose the name of the company file you want to cancel a subscription for.
Go to the Support menu and choose Contact support.
This opens the Contact support page, with your name pre-filled from your account details.
In the Serial number field, enter the serial number of the company file you wish to cancel.
In the Subject field, enter a description of the request, like 'Cancel company file subscription'.
In the What can we help you with? field, choose Account and subscription.
In the What's your issue? field, choose Cancel my subscription.
In the What's your reason for cancelling? field, choose a reason.
When you’re finished, click Send message.
Repeat from step 2 for any other files you want to cancel.
Instead of cancelling a company file subscription, you can:
downgrade the file to a cheaper AccountRight product
Depending on the product you're downgrading from and to, you may lose some features. For example, if you downgrade from AccountRight Premier to AccountRight Plus, you'll lose multiple stock locations and multicurrency features.
move your company file data to MYOB Business
continue to use your company file with the current subscription. You'll be billed the new subscription rate for all additional files at your next billing cycle.
Log into My Account (myaccount.myob.com). If prompted, sign in using your MYOB account email address and password. Your support requests and their status will be listed at the bottom of My Account:
