The new Dashboard

The new Dashboard is your starting point when you work on your MYOB business. It shows what needs your attention and takes you straight to the next thing to review or do.

If you're using AI BAS, the new Dashboard opens when you sign in to your MYOB buiness.

The Dashboard helps you stay on top of your AI BAS review. It can also alert you to other work that needs attention, such as overdue invoices, overdue bills, bank transactions, uploaded documents and business insights.

What you'll see on the new Dashboard

The Dashboard is made up of cards. Each card highlights something that needs your attention and links you to the right place to deal with it.

Cards are ordered so the most important work appears first. By default, AI BAS cards appear at the top.

The new Dashboard

Depending on your business and your access, you might see cards for:

  • AI BAS tasks that need review

  • AI BAS submission reminders

  • overdue invoices

  • overdue bills

  • unmatched bank transactions

  • unmatched uploaded documents

  • (if you're part of the AI Business Insights Beta) AI Business Insights trends across income, expenses, cash management and profit

You won't always see every card. The cards you see depend on what's waiting to be done and your roles and permissions (which control what features you can access in your MYOB business).

Review your AI BAS tasks

The new Dashboard is designed to help you keep your BAS moving along through the quarter, instead of leaving everything until the deadline.

If you're using AI BAS, you'll see cards that show:

  • the BAS quarter

  • how many days are left before the BAS due date

  • how much of your BAS work is complete

  • how many transactions need documents

  • how many transactions need tax code review

This helps you quickly see what AI BAS has already reviewed and what still needs your input.

To continue your BAS review, click:

  • Review in AI BAS on an outstanding task card, or

  • Complete AI BAS on the submission reminder card.

Click Review in AI BAS to go to an AI BAS task

Both options take you to the AI BAS home screen so you can finish the next step.

If your BAS work for the period is complete, the card changes to show that you're up to date.

More about reviewing AI BAS

Check what's urgent

AI BAS cards include a days remaining indicator so you can quickly see what needs attention first.

Days remainding indicators
  • Blue when there are more than 10 days remaining.

  • Amber when there are 10 days or fewer, but more than 1 day remaining.

  • Light red when there is 1 day or fewer remaining, including today.

  • Dark red when the BAS is overdue.

Go to other tasks

The new Dashboard can also help you stay on top of other tasks around your business. These cards act like shortcuts, taking you straight to the relevant page so you can deal with the task there. Click the purple text in a card to go to the task.

Overdue invoices card

For example, you can go to:

  • overdue invoices, so you can follow up late payments

  • overdue bills, so you can check what's still outstanding

  • unallocated bank transactions, so you can keep your books accurate and your BAS figures clean

  • unmatched uploaded documents, so you can link them to transactions and keep your records complete

  • AI Business Insights, so you can review the latest information about your cash flow, revenue and expenses

These cards take you to the right page in your MYOB business.

Filter so you can focus

You can filter the Dashboard to focus on a type of work. Just click a category, such as AI BAS, Banking or Sales.

When you're up to date

If there's nothing for you to action, you'll see an up-to-date message:

All caught up message

This means there are no current tasks for you to review on the Dashboard right now.

Understanding your business performance

We've retained some of the interactive graphs you're familiar with from the 'classic' Dashboard, giving you a snapshot of the financial state of your business. These sit under Your business.

Using Your business

Use the Income and Expenses panels to compare your what you’re earning today with what you've earned in the past.

Income and Expenses

Use past income and expense patterns to help you:

  • know when to ramp up your marketing, buy in stock or hire casuals for busy sales periods

  • understand your seasonal business costs and forecast expenses more accurately

  • compare last year's earnings and net profit to this year or, if you really want to crunch the numbers, get a detailed Profit & Loss report with a click.

Show what’s most important to you and hide what you don't want others to see. Expand Income, Expenses and Financial postion to see what makes up your totals. For example, see how much of your income is derived from cash versus invoices and how much of your outstanding invoices are overdue.

Plan your cash flow, by comparing what you owe with the money owed to you by customers in Income and the balances of your bank accounts in Accounts.

If you use payroll, you can see how much super is payable and the outstanding PAYG Withholding for your employees. These amounts are based on your payroll linked categories. You can also see a list of your most recent pay runs and drill into them for more detail.

Pay runs and superannuation payable

Check how your figures are affected by including or excluding GST or how your totals change by money spent or received (Cash accounting method) or by expected income and expenses (Accrual accounting method).

And when you're done, hide those totals from prying eyes. Handy if you have MYOB Business open in a customer service area of your business or if you're working on the train.

Hide totals

Use roles and permissions to control what information your staff see on the Dashboard. For example, a staff member with the Sales role can only see invoice amounts on the Dashboard, but not cash payments. Find out more about roles and permissions.

Want to switch back to the classic Dashboard? The new Dashboard is the best way to keep on top of your AI BAS tasks throughout the BAS period, so you don't get slammed with lots to do at lodgement time. But, if you want you can switch back to the classic Dashboard by clicking Return to classic Dashaboard in the banner at the top.

The new Dashboard is still your default landing page, so it opens again the next time you sign in.
