2025 In Focus: A year of delivering innovation for everyone’s business

2025 wasn’t just another year of updates, it was a year where MYOB genuinely stepped forward for small and medium businesses, and the advisors who support them.

Across every corner of our product suite, we focused on one thing: delivering innovation that makes a real difference to the everyday. Less admin. More clarity. Better cashflow. And technology that keeps pace with you, wherever work takes you.

And because you’ve been with us through it all, sharing feedback, joining research sessions, and putting new features to the test, this story is very much yours too.

A year of meaningful improvements

MYOB Assist

we combined our Capture and Invoice apps to give you one smarter and sleeker mobile experience. With MYOB Assist, customers have the ability to ace their admin on the go, from AI-powered receipt capture to sending invoices the moment the job’s done, all syncing seamlessly with their browser file. Since the launch, we’ve added multi-page receipt capture functionality, enhanced permissions and, coming soon: quotes and tap-to-go payments.

AI category suggestions

The update shifted transaction matching being a chore to a quick, confident review flow. Smarter predictive technology suggests categories for transactions based on your habits, patterns and financial behaviour, leaving you to review and approve the matches. Getting you a view on your actual financial position faster, and making sure you’re always BAS ready.

ARL uplifts

On the AccountRight side, we invested heavily in modernising the experience without disrupting the workflows customers rely on. The refreshed Command Centre gave the software a cleaner, faster and more intuitive feel. Sales attachments landed where they should have been all along: directly inside sales transactions, purchases and journals. In 2026, expect improvements in your login experience, automated backups and improved invoicing experience.

Solo by MYOB

This year we introduced Solo, built for the 1.6 million Aussie sole traders who are tired of losing hours to spreadsheets, crumpled receipts and juggling too many apps. Solo brings the essentials together in one place, sending invoices, tracking expenses, taking payments, connected banking and keeping an eye on your cashflow, freeing soloists from the boring bits and giving them more time for the work they actually enjoy.

You helped shape the year

One of the most meaningful parts of 2025 wasn’t a feature, it was the partnership behind the scenes. Thousands of customers and partners joined early access programs, jumped into one-to-one research calls and gave honest feedback that directly shaped what we built.

This collaboration influenced our product roadmap and importantly, strengthened the policy work we carry to government on behalf of the SME community, as we continued to stand up for Australia’s small businesses by highlighting their real challenges through our Bi-Annual Business Monitor and quarterly SME Performance Indicator reports to ensure their voices are heard where it matters.

What’s ahead in 2026

If 2025 was about building momentum, 2026 is about taking a confident leap forward.

Coming to MYOB Assist is quotes and tap-to-pay; in AccountRight there will be improvements to the log in experience, backups and invoice reminders; Solo by MYOB is going to keep getting bigger and better and then we have the changes to Pay Super and Open Banking.
