MYOB reaches 5k milestone with online collaboration platform

09 Sep 2015

Fastest uptake of any MYOB solution.

MYOB, Australia’s leading accounting solutions provider has reached a new milestone today with 5, 000 client portals created; the fastest uptake of any MYOB solution in the company’s 24 year history.

Launched in April 2015, MYOB Portal is an online collaboration platform for the accounting industry. The client portal enables accountants to transfer documents securely with their clients through MYOB’s practice solutions, Accountants Office (AO) and Accountants Enterprise (AE). The solution is designed to be easily accessible on a smartphone, so that an accountant’s clients can access important documents from wherever they are, at any time they choose to. As a practice solutions provider, MYOB was first to market with a complete integrated solution which has been reviewed and agreed to by the Australian Taxation Office.

In less than six months in market, MYOB Portal has had a significant and positive impact on the accounting industry in both Australia and New Zealand, with over 500 accounting practices creating 10, 000 documents. The thinking behind Portal was also a key component to MYOB receiving the BRW award for Most Innovative Large Company in 2015.

“These numbers reflect the fastest product uptake in our company history amongst our vast network of accountants and bookkeepers. We are thrilled with Portal’s very positive reception in market,” says Andrew Birch, General Manager Industry Solutions, MYOB.

“We recognise that to be successful, our solutions must respond to our customer needs. The reality is that small business owners are constantly on the road and traditionally didn’t have an easy way to collaborate, sign and transfer documentation with their accountants. Also, our partner feedback was about reducing time on documentation and removing workplace clutter.

MYOB Portal offers a solution for both needs; it’s a collaboration platform that opens up levels of communication, efficiency, and visibility. It’s also enabled our partners to re-imagine their practice in the cloud in a paperless way.  This has been the reason behind its rapid success,” says Mr. Birch.

Michael Beks and Associates, an accounting practice in Victoria, use MYOB Portal and are fast approaching 200 portals set up with their clients and have used the product extensively.

“MYOB Portal is truly an innovative collaboration platform. Now, our clients can securely collaborate with us in real time wherever they are, and we’re able to receive immediate digital approvals for documents and client source data. It is saving an enormous amount of administration time and cost – and we love that it’s enabled us to create a paperless office,” says Michael Beks.
