Australia’s leading accounting software provider today opened online pre-registrations for its mobile payments solution MYOB PayDirect at http://myob.com.au/paydirect, prior to its limited release on 31 March.
Announced at the company’s recent national partner roadshow, MYOB PayDirect will turn small businesses’ smartphones into quick and easy payments terminals. Following the limited release to early adopters later this month, a general release is planned for next quarter.
Extra detail released today confirms the app is compatible with internet-enabled devices with iOS 6 or higher, and Android 4.0 or higher, and will be free to download from the Apple app store and Google Play store. MYOB also shared that the reader:
- Connects to the compatible smartphone via an audio jack
- Accepts ‘swipe and sign’ and ‘chip and sign’ credit cards*
- Has a daily transaction limit per merchant is $2,500**
- When fully charged, will perform up to 2,500 transactions
General Manager, Connected Services, Andrew Birch says, “We’re really excited about delivering our mobile payments solution to local business owners, for whom cash flow is a crucial focus. The average Australian consumer performed double the number of credit or debit card transactions in 2012/13*** than they did five years prior, so we imagine this app will be embraced by both business owners and their customers.
“MYOB PayDirect is a compelling mobile payments solution for operators looking to significantly improve their cash flow. Operators can take credit card payments and administer receipts and invoices on the spot, rather than having to return to the office, to generate and send them, and then wait weeks to get paid.
“The greater an SME's ability to be paid quickly, and the deeper the insight they have into their cash flow situation, the more likely they are to be able to succeed and grow their business.”
In addition, there are no lock-in contracts or set-up fees for MYOB PayDirect. The streamlined application process and affordable monthly payment plans make this an attractive solution for all active mobile businesses - from tradies to beauty therapists and accountants to personal trainers.
Author/Technician Scott Tyson has been participating in the PayDirect pilot program from the start, saying, "MYOB PayDirect has been of huge benefit for my business, not only in the selling of my books, but also for the convenience of those needing credit facilities when picking up electronic repairs. Not only do I recommend PayDirect to other small businesses such as mine, I hope to continue to use the device in an ongoing capacity as I would be lost without it. Thanks, MYOB, PayDirect is just what my business was looking for!"
