Let MYOB simplify payday filing for you and your clients

Remind me, what are the details on payday filing?
From April 2019 all employers will be required to report to the IR every payday. Employers who make over $50,000 PAYE/ESCT deductions a year, will be required to file electronically and those that pay less than this can choose to file electronically or on paper. Payday filing is currently voluntary and becomes mandatory from 1 April 2019. Employers will no longer be required to file an Employer Monthly Schedule on the 20th of the month.
Payday filing is now available in MYOB Essentials Payroll, Ace Payroll, MYOB Payroll and IMS Payroll

What your payroll clients need to know
Being prepared is the key so you need to talk to your clients well before payday filing becomes mandatory. What you need to communicate to your clients depends on the payroll software product you use to manage their payroll:
If you use MYOB Ace Payroll, MYOB Payroll or MYOB IMS Payroll:
Due to the way the IR filing system is currently set up, each of your payroll clients will need to log into their myIR account and update their thirdparty access settings to give you authority to complete payday filing on their behalf. However, before 1 April 2019, they can only update this setting after they have voluntarily opted-into payday filing - also done in their myIR account.
The IR has a video that explains how to update third party access settings on their website here.
If you use MYOB Essentials Payroll:
Essentials Payroll links directly with the IR and will allow you to complete payday filing for clients directly from the software as soon as the feature becomes available. We’d still recommend making sure your clients know about mandatory payday filing, but make sure they know you’ve got it sorted for them.
Further action required by some payroll service providers!
Further changes at the IR require third parties providing payroll services to register as a Registered Payroll Bureau (more than 10 clients) or a Nominated Person (less than 10 clients).*
The IR are encouraging payroll service providers to complete the registration process as soon as possible to avoid disruption to their business services. The IR have strongly recommended that the registration process is completed by 17 April, before the planned myIR outage between 18-26 April. If you have any questions or want to register as a payroll bureau or nominated person, please contact the IR at firstname.lastname@example.org.
*Tax Agents are exempt from this new process.
