MYOB named as a Top 100 Graduate Employer in New Zealand

19 Feb 2020

MYOB confirmed its place as one of New Zealand’s leading graduate employers after being ranked 5th in the technology sector in the Top 100 Graduate Employers in New Zealand on Thursday.

MYOB also placed 22nd in the Top 100 Graduate Employers in New Zealand in the survey, collated by GradNewZealand. The survey was completed by 2000 university students who voted for the companies that they would most like to work for after completing their study.

MYOB’s Head of Employee Services, Felicity Brown, says we’re really pleased to be recognised as a top graduate employer.  “We recognise the importance of helping graduates kick-start their career by finding ways to give them the best start.”

“We pride ourselves on creating a workplace that is diverse, innovative and collaborative, and we work hard to support our graduates – particularly through the Future Makers Academy where we are fostering up-and-coming software developers.”

MYOB’s Future Makers Academy is for graduates who are new in their career in software development and want to build up the skills necessary for a successful career as a software professional at MYOB and beyond.

Graduates from diverse backgrounds can ease themselves into the world of software development through the graduate program by working closely with mentors to develop key skills.

MYOB’s Program Consultant, Bianca Knight says “The Future Makers Academy is our graduate program for aspiring developers who are looking to land their first job in the industry. Our protégés learn from a supportive mentoring structure, where the focus is on the principles of coding and not the language.”

They also work within teams that are on rotating placements – allowing them to work within different parts of the MYOB platform and gain exposure to a wide range of interesting work.

“The Future Makers Academy teaches graduates technical and collaborative skills that are vital as the modern workplace becomes more occupied with automation and AI,” says Ms Brown.

“Our graduates are able to easily apply their skills in the workplace and be confident in their work as a software professional.”

The MYOB Future Makers Academy has two intakes per year – in February and July – in three locations: Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne. Applications for the February 2021 intake are due to open in April. Sign up to the mailing list for notifications.
