Starting up a new business is about to become a lot easier thanks to an initiative between leading accounting software company MYOB and New Zealand’s largest bank ANZ.
The first two years are crucial for any start-up, with a huge number of things for new business owners to consider. Dealing with new customers and cashflow; hiring staff and marketing their wares are all front of mind, but it is also important to get in place the right banking and accounting structures which can in turn help set a business up for success.
Businesses that have been running for less than two years can already access a range of banking benefits through ANZ's Business Start-up Package. Now, ANZ and MYOB are further supporting these customers by offering a 12 month free subscription to MYOB Essentials Accounting to help start-ups run their all-important bookkeeping online and manage cashflow with ease in the cloud.
MYOB General Manager SME Solutions James Scollay said that supporting start-up businesses was important for the growth of the New Zealand economy and in encouraging Kiwi innovation.
“On average approximately 50,000 new businesses are registered in New Zealand every year. Last year the World Bank survey ranked New Zealand as the easiest place in the world to start a business,” he says.
“Our 25 years of dealing with small business owners has shown us that being passionate about a product or service is the main driver for starting a business. By providing new business owners with the accounting solutions they need to manage their business effectively, we are empowering them to take control of their business finances and helping them on their path to success.”
Dan DuBern, owner of Tauranga start-up business ARC Fine Art Services, says that the offer of free Essentials and no transaction or monthly account fees on his ANZ Business Current Account has helped him get his art installation business off to a good start.
“Since starting my company in December, business demand has been high. Using MYOB Essentials has helped me streamline a lot of my administration work, taking a lot of the manual data entry work out of my accounting and making me a lot more efficient,” he says.
