MYOB appoints new NZ General Manager
23 Nov 2016
Leading accounting software provider MYOB has appointed Carolyn Luey as the new head of its rapidly expanding Enterprise Solutions division and General Manager of the company’s New Zealand operations.
Ms Luey joins the trans-Tasman business as it experiences strong growth, both in its online services and within the range of products it offers to larger businesses.
Carolyn Luey says it is exciting to be joining a business that has undergone a highly successful transformation, while focusing entirely on the success of local businesses.
“After 25 years as a leader in the local market, MYOB has developed a reputation for high quality innovation, service and investment in home-grown talent,” says Carolyn Luey.
“I’m particularly excited to be given the opportunity to work alongside MYOB’s highly skilled Kiwi team to help simplify the success of thousands of local businesses – large and small.”
With offices in both Auckland and Christchurch, MYOB employs over 250 staff in New Zealand, including a large team of local designers and developers.
MYOB General Manager, Industry Solutions Andrew Birch says Carolyn Luey brings an impressive range of experience to the new role.
“Carolyn has worked with some of New Zealand’s leading companies, leading the delivery of a wide range of technology and innovation through a period of significant industry transformation,” says Andrew Birch.
“We’re very keen to see her bring her skills and talents to bear on both the success of the New Zealand business and also our fast-growing Enterprise Solutions division.”
Over the last several years, MYOB has been expanding its presence in the mid-market sector, with investments in a number of local companies, including the $28.5 million acquisition of Auckland-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) provider Greentree in August and the investment in Christchurch-headquartered PayGlobal in 2014.
Enterprise Solutions delivered 12 per cent of MYOB’s revenue in the first half of 2016, with all three enterprise solution products, including the online MYOB Advanced system, growing ahead of forecasts.
Ms Luey joins MYOB from NZME, having worked for the organisation and The Radio Network for five years. She has also worked in a range of leadership roles in Mighty River Power and Telecom.
Based in Auckland, Carolyn Luey is a member of the New Zealand Asian Leaders advisory board and was an executive committee member of the Radio Broadcasters Association.
Ms Luey will take up the new role of MYOB General Manager of Enterprise Solutions and New Zealand in January 2017.
