Choose which clients to move to MYOB Practice tax

We encourage your practice to use MYOB Practice Tax to take advantage of the continuous improvements we're bringing to the efficiency of preparing tax returns online.

However, some clients are more suitable than others for preparing tax returns in MYOB Practice based on the current features available.

Individuals – clients you can move now

MYOB Practice is ready to use for most of your clients' tax obligations.

Limited CGT events are only available in a limited capacity. While we continue to work on improvements, we don’t have a capital gains tax calculation worksheet. But if you have your calculator, the schedule is available to total the amounts and to send to the ATO.

Company return

Amended company return (tax year 2023) that requires loss carry back change in choice schedule. You'll need to prepare these returns in AE/AO.

Trust return

Not distributing all income to beneficiaries: We do not have a trust return estimate when there are amounts not fully distributed to the beneficiaries.

Partnership return

Although these minor forms aren't available, you can still submit updates using schedules in the tax return.

Minor forms (standalone)

Minor forms aren't currently available as standalone returns. This includes the Interposed Entity Election (IEE), Family Trust Election (FTE) and Closely Held Trusts.

However, you can still submit updates for IEE and FTE by completing the relevant schedules within the associated tax return.
