MYOB ranks amongst Australia’s most innovative companies
31 Jul 2018
A culture of innovation and setting staff up to be “future makers” has seen accounting software business MYOB place 8th on the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Most Innovative Companies list.
The prestigious awards recognise innovation as change that adds
value across a business – last night’s award winners were acknowledged
for their ability to implement a key initiative in the past year,
driving a culture of innovation, and a benchmarking survey rating
employees’ answers regarding a range of innovation drivers.
“We’re delighted with this result. This is the 6th
consecutive year we have been recognised on this awards list, and it’s
wonderful to be acknowledged as one of Australia and New Zealand’s top
10 most innovative companies,” says MYOB CEO Tim Reed.
“We’ve built a culture of innovation in all parts of our
business. Team members truly see themselves as ‘future makers’,
focused on developing the next generation of technology to help
businesses succeed.
“We are investing more than $200 million in research and development
over the next two years and continue to work with businesses of all
sizes to leverage industry and technological trends and ensure we
deliver real value to clients.”
MYOB’s unique artificial intelligence tool, MYOB Advisor, was key to
the company’s ranking.
The tool incorporates artificial intelligence and natural language
generation to interpret data and provide easily understood
descriptions of a business’ financial position. These insights can
then be customised by accountants, allowing them to easily advise
their clients, driving meaningful conversations.
“The industry is transforming and it’s an exciting time for
accountants, bookkeepers and small business. MYOB Advisor will be able
to help forge closer advisory relationships between accountants and
their clients,” says Tim Reed.
“MYOB began life more than two decades ago with one big idea - to
create innovative tools for making business life easier. Our business
success is based on our team’s ability to stay ahead of the technology
curve, and we believe we have created the working environment to do
just that.”
