Australia’s leading business solutions provider MYOB was recognised for its innovative business app at the 2014 Australian Mobile and App Awards held at Brand X in Chippendale, Sydney, on 20 August.
More than 30 categories were announced at the event, with MYOB’s PayDirect app taking out top prize in the ‘Business’ category.
Hosted by design100, the range of awards included the coveted App Design Champion – Chairman's Award – awarded to Telstra for the second year running.
The awards provide a unique opportunity for all sectors of the industry and marketplace to engage and extend the design conversation, and to celebrate the courage of both commissioners and creators.
The awards were announced by design100 and App Design Awards founder and chief executive, Mark Bergin.
Mr Bergin says there has been an extraordinary array of talent and innovative projects showcasing the depth and strength of app design in the Australian marketplace. “This year the app moved beyond smartphones to web apps, console apps and platform apps. The era of the app only being on Apple devices is past; long live the app."
MYOB’s PayDirect app makes it easy for businesses to manage their invoices and take credit card payments on their smartphone using an iOS or Android mobile app.
This integration reduces data-entry and date-entry errors by eliminating double entry of key accounting data, and by automatically posting invoice and payment details through to MYOB AccountRight.
MYOB PayDirect turns SMEs’ smartphones into quick, easy payments terminals, says MYOB chief executive Tim Reed. “We are very excited and proud to be recognised at these awards for our PayDirect app. MYOB PayDirect is a compelling mobile payments solution for operators looking to significantly improve their cash flow. PayDirect takes advantage of the powerful usability of iOS and Android operating systems to empower all AccountRight Live clients to run their business from their pocket and work even more effectively while out of the office – something MYOB is proud to be a part of,” he says.
“The greater an SME’s ability to be paid quickly, and the deeper the insight they have into their cash flow situation, the more likely they are to be able to succeed and grow their business. We believe PayDirect is an innovative step to making business life easier.”
